Unit Description:Greater than one year of experience as an RN is required.
Previous experience in Radiology is preferred. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday, 7:30am-5pm.The Radiology RNs complete specialized nursing duties such as administering IV sedation or analgesia during special procedures, monitoring vital signs including ECG rhythms, closely monitoring patients with cardiac/pulse oximeters i.e., and pacemaker monitoring during MRI scans. Radiology nurses will be required to care for patients receiving nuclear medicine treatment, care and management of labs, medications, and pre and post intervention phone calls. Radiology modalities call on nurses to care for patients transported from inpatient settings, patients in emergency situations, pediatric patients and others needing sedation with assistance of the anesthesiologist. The Radiology Nurse may be called upon to help write patient care policies, design flowsheets, patient instruction sheets and/or develop protocols and care plans. Additional required tasks may include routinely starting or checking peripheral IV's, assess/de-access infusaports, suction patients, insert in-dwelling catheters and assisting patients with their personal needs.On-call:
