DescriptionWe are looking for high caliber and tested Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to drive analytics with high exposure to VP and SVP level business decision making support. In this role you will define scalable processes and deep dive into the product and program metrics globally across multiple business units. You will apply both business and technical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous and innovative environment. Our ideal teammate possesses a natural curiosity, sharp analytical skills.Key job responsibilities- Write expert-level SQL that extracts actionable insights from some of the worlds largest datasets- Dive deep to help drive key business decisions through data insights and improve a wide range of internal products- Own the design and development of automated solutions for recurrent reporting and in-depth analyses including learning, publishing, and managing our operational business metrics decks- Drive continuous improvement of our analytical processes by automating, scaling, and simplifying self-service support for our customers- Invent new ways to explore our data and work with Product Managers to identify opportunities and transform business problems into defined data and reporting requirements- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentationBasic Qualifications- 5+ years of SQL experience- 5+ years of professional or military experience- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.- Experience with AWS technologies- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of resultsPreferred Qualifications- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadershipAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
