Partner with the Maintenance team to plan, coordinate, and schedule proactive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.Essential FunctionsDevelop, implement, and maintain the preventive maintenance program and lubrication program including all necessary processes and documentationProvide metric calculation and reportingFully utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Process and prioritize work orders; examine and determine best approach for work order completion including obtaining necessary documents and checking parts availabilityHelp develop job plans to ensure standard work procedures are followed and consistency between mechanics is maintainedPartner with maintenance management and purchasing to manage spare parts inventory for production lines and building/facility maintenance assetsProvide leadership in proactive manufacturing principles and implementation including lean, TPM, RCM, etc.Maintain maintenance supplies by ordering, tracking, and placing purchase orders and properly coding to correct GL codesRecord and maintain inventory of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed in the CMMSPerform recordkeeping, filing, cycle counting, and year-end inventory auditsCoordinate stocking of spare parts in parts roomAssist with other maintenance initiatives as neededSupport food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured productsPerform other job-related duties as assignedQualifications
(Education, Experience, Competencies)High school diploma or equivalent; technical school program completion preferred3+ years of maintenance experienceMaintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment preferredCMMS experience and overall computer proficiencyKnowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices, planning methods and tools including planning and scheduling softwareKnowledge of methods, practices, tools, equipment, material and safety procedures used in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and instrument equipment used in manufacturing and distribution facilitiesAbility to create programs and procedures from scratch with limited directionStrong communication skills including the ability to listen, explain, and facilitate; ask for input; accept suggestions; and work with others to solve problemsAbility to maintain attention to detail, demonstrate flexibility, create structure, and follow through amid interruptions and changing prioritiesAbility to set priorities, work independently, mentor, coach, and coordinate multiple projects utilizing available resources
