Our client in Wilsonville is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their expanding team. The role involves assembling mechanical components of automation equipment according to provided mechanical drawings, as well as assembling pneumatic components. Additionally, the Mechanical Technician will handle the mechanical aspects of testing, debugging, installing, and repairing automation equipment. A thorough understanding of the Bill of Materials and strong teamwork skills are essential for this position. #1939ST
This is a contract position through the end of January 2025, with the potential for extension.
Duties:
Assemble complex mechanical components per supplied mechanical drawingsUse your understanding of GD&T, torque sequence, order of operations, fastener torque specs (materials and tolerances), etc.Use adhesives and arbor press properly and accordinglySub-assemble and set-up/install proximity sensorsIdentify and troubleshoot mechanical/pneumatic problems and implement solutionsDetermine what pneumatic components are required and assemble per pneumatic diagramsPerform tubing identification, callout, and routingInterpret pneumatic diagramsSet-up pneumatic flow controlsMachine mechanical components using conventional and CNC machine tools:Perform basic manual machining and use tapping unit in the machine shopOperate Lathe, Mills, and DrillPerform intermediate measurement skills such as indicator and micrometerAssist engineering with machine and component design by contributing ideas for the resolution of design problemsDrive personal or company vehicle to customers' facilities for installation or service work, or to local vendors to obtain partsCreate simple but accurate mechanical sketches; mark modifications onto existing drawingsAssist in the de-bug phase of production (modify, re-machine, re-assemble)Inspect incoming manufactured parts for quality and conformance to printAssist Controls and Electrical Technicians with mounting of electrical componentsOther duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pneumatic control and common devicesExcellent English reading, writing, understanding, and documentation abilitiesSkilled in the use of hand/power tools (hex keys, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, cutting tools, measuring tools, drills, and grinders)Skilled in interpreting mechanical/electrical/pneumatic drawings, diagrams, and schematicsBasic knowledge of component fabrication, and machine shop practice using conventional and CNC machine toolsAbility to use PCs for word processing and utilizing internal systems for drawing, component tracking, email, etc.Ability to use CAD systems such as SolidWorks, Cadkey, AutoCAD and Inventor to create drawingsAbility to work in both a team environment and independentlyGood interpersonal, communication, and time management skills2+ years experience as a mechanical technician with recent high tech mechanical assembly experience2+ years in the installation of equipment, onsite at the customer, preferred1-2+ years of machining experience is strongly desiredAble to communicate with staff in EnglishAble to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds;HS Diploma or GEDMust meet ITAR requirements.
Pay:
$27-$30/hr. DOE
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 5:30 am-2 pm
