Careers. Join the Evolution!What will your day look like? At Aerotech, you willProgram, set-up, and operate Mazak CNC machines in a precision machine shop environmentRegularly produce newly designed parts.
This involves workholding selection, part process decisions, programming from scratch or modifying a similar program, detailed first part inspection, and process writeupsInspect parts with tight dimensional and form error tolerances, typically in the range of 0.0002-0.0005 inches (5-12 microns).
You will use bore gauges, gauge blocks, granite surface plates, digital and dial indicators, CMMs, and other precision measurement toolsProgram and edit, set-up, and operate pallet changers, robot arms, bar feeders, and other automated load/unload equipment when medium or large batches are requiredSelect, align, and secure workholding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories, typically to produce small batches of precision machined partsRetrieve and edit Mazatrol CNC programs.
Or for new programs, calculate and set controls such as speed, feed, and depth of cut.What will separate you from the rest? Experience withProgramming Mazak CNC machines in MazatrolStrong blueprint reading and GD&T experiencePrecision part measurement and inspection tools (micrometers, electronic gauges, calipers and similar tools/equipment)Effective electronic communication and general software experienceMinimum QualificationsOne-year certificate from college or technical school or apprenticeship program in Machine Shop technology; OR three or more years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of speeds and feeds for machining all types of metalsKnowledge of metric conversion; able to work in Metric and English unitsAble to lift and carry up to 25 poundsAble to stand for prolonged periods of timeSteady shifts only. Night shift is 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM and offers a $4.00 per hour shift differential. Daylight shift is 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.Night shift candidates must be able to train on steady day shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM for several weeksCurrently, machinists are working 50 hours a week of voluntary overtime on averageBenefitsAerotech has been advancing industries with our precision motion technology for more than 50 years.
