Shift Time: 9am-530pmThis position is under the direct or indirect supervision of a Pathologist.Assists in the preparation and performance of human surgical-specimen dissections for microscopic examination, special procedures, and biospecimen banking.Performs human postmortem examinations, and assists the Pathologists in the implementation and monitoring of the Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement Program in Anatomic Pathology.Job Requirements
3 years of experienceExperience with human surgical specimen dissection and human postmortem examinationsKnowledge of obtaining pertinent clinical information and history, laboratory data, x-rays, and scansSkill in gross anatomic features description, dissection of surgical specimens, and postmortem prosectionAbility to prepare and submit appropriate tissue sections for routine histologic processing and intraoperative proceduresCompetence in triaging biological samples for special proceduresProficiency in obtaining and processing tissues for BioSpecimen Banking as requiredAdept at photographing all pertinent specimens as directed by the PathologistEnsures proper maintenance of equipment, provision of adequate supplies, and cleanliness of the surgical pathology suiteAssists in the organization and coordination of Anatomic Pathology ConferencesSchedule Information
