Education/Degree Required- BSN required. Preferred- Master’s Degree in Nursing highly preferred. Experience Required- Minimum two years of diverse and well rounded clinical experience is required. Preferred- Prior management or supervisory experience preferred. Licensure Required- Current licensure from Massachusetts Board of Registration as Registered Nurse. Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.) Required- Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.- ACLS- Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software. Preferred- National certification in a nursing specialty preferred.- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.- Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.- Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies foraddressing them.- High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.- Attention to detail.
Administrative, operational, and clinical responsibilities for all services in the facility on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Actively manage nursing staffing to ensure safe staffing levels and budgetary constraints are met. Oversee admission and discharge functions. Serve as primary contact for the facility’s internal and external customers. Provide leadership, supervision, and serve as a role model to staff ensure adherence to standards of clinical excellence and opportunities for professional development. Monitor practice to ensure compliance with licensing and accrediting agency standards. Participate in hospital committees and the performance improvement process.- Administrative, operational, and clinical responsibilities is assumed for all services in the facility on evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Appropriate use of resources is demonstrated.- Nursing staff supervision, support, and mentoring are provided to promote staff development and adherence to the standards of clinical excellence.- Appropriate intervention is demonstrated in all situations, e.g., deterioration of patient condition, disruptive behavior, equipment malfunctions, etc.- Adequate staffing is ensured to meet coverage demands.- Delegation of work to staff is consistent with their abilities, professional development and needs of the unit.- Patient/resident satisfaction is promoted and aligned with broader action plans.- Observations related to staff performance are shared with the appropriate nurse manager.Participates in staff performance reviews as per organizational guidelines.- Department compliance is monitored and maintained to meet licensing and accrediting agency standards.- Practice is guided by and congruent with the American Nurses’ Association’s Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice and the American Organization of Nurse Executives’ Nurse Executive Competencies.- Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.- SRN Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence are upheld.
