Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months.Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (with 2 max attempts).There is a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions.Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (with 2 max attempts).Strong post-op assessment and time management skills - high patient turnover unit.Schedule Information
Self-scheduling available.Block scheduling available.4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period.Holiday rotation schedule.Standby requirement monitored by central staffing.Unit Specific Information
Nurse:Patient Ratios 4:1 (with 2-3 PCTs on day shift).Common diagnoses/Types of patients: post-op: colorectal, urological, bariatric, hepatobiliary, hysterectomy, breast recon, etc. AND Chemo/Oncology patients.Charge nurse does not take assignment.2 shifts with a preceptor for department specific orientation.Scrub color/dress code: navy blue.Additional Details
An ONS Chemo Provider Card is preferred, not necessarily the ONCC (certification).Our unit is also equipped/prepped to admit appropriate patients to hall/overflow space and may need to prep some rooms to "double-bunk".
