**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - ICU
**Job Specialty:** Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience in a large hospital with over 200 beds
**License:** ND or compact state RN License
**Certifications:**- BLS (AHA required)- ACLS (AHA required)- NIHSS (must obtain prior to start if not already certified)
**Must-Have:**- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records- Proficiency in managing titratable drips- Willingness and ability to float to Intermediate Care (IMC) unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio and assist in medical-surgical units as needed
**Job Description:**- Manage 1-2 critically ill patients in an ICU setting- Care for a variety of patient populations, including medical, surgical, renal, and bone marrow transplant, as well as oncology patients- Manage the administration of vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other medications- Assist with bedside procedures such as Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), tracheostomy, line placement, and other diagnostic tests- Utilize equipment such as EPIC EMR, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinet, Aleris IV pumps, MOOG feeding pumps, Phillips patient monitoring systems, AvaSure patient monitoring, and Hamilton ventilators/BiPAP
Candidates will undergo a comprehensive orientation program totaling 32 hours, including an introduction to the hospital, ICU RST, and Broadway ICU. The role requires working every other weekend and holiday, with the possibility of floating to all critical care departments and the Intermediate ICU. The unit has an 18-bed capacity, with a nurse-to-patient ratio in ICU of 1:2 and 1:4 in IMC. The dress code is navy scrubs.
