A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for a night ICU RN.12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.2 years of unit experience.Job Requirements

12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700.Schedule is done by unit scheduler.Weekend Requirements: Every other.Holiday Requirements: Varies, based on unit needs.Floating Requirements: Will float to PCU and Medical floors.Unit Specific Information

Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, if we do have downgrades we staff the medical patients at 1:5 and PCU at 1:4.Common diagnoses/Types of patients: COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, neuro.Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, Insulin, TNK, Heparin, IV Antibiotics, Sedatives.Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1 tech until we get to 20 and then 2 techs up to 24.Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7?: 24/7 critical care coverage, E-ICU staffed with nurse and APRN 24/7.RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Vents, BiPAPs.Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret.Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week system orientation and onboarding. 1-2 12 hour shifts of unit orientation.Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
