You will a key role in leading and developing a global downstream applications team. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a collaborative environment.
We are an innovative life sciences company focused on developing and commercializing high-value bioprocessing products, technologies, and solutions critical in the production of biologic drugs.
You will be part of a cross functional team of 5 highly motivated and collaborative colleagues that are subject matter experts in Repligen down stream applications. The goal of the team is to support the commercial team and work with customers on cutting edge applications.This role will be based in the United states and will report to the VP of Global Sales and Applications.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a global FAS (Field Application Scientist) team working in coordination with the Repligen sales team and product management to provide pre- and post-sales support to customers for the Repligen downstream portfolio.
This will include responding to customer requests for second line technical support, giving technical seminars, performing technology demonstrations, providing on-site/in-lab support and troubleshooting.
Act as a mentor and role model to ensure effective communication and education to develop both Product and Application expertise.
Develop and execute project plans to meet customer needs using Repligen technologies.
Facilitate FAS (Field Application Scientist) team communication and sharing of best practices to improve customer satisfaction/support.
Track, trend and report on key applications metrics on the adoption and use of upstream technologies.
Review team call reports for high level strategy and technical alignment. Use industry and product knowledge to help drive new opportunities/evaluations.
Help summarize and maintain product and industry literature and messaging for global FAS (Field Application Scientist) team.
Train and coach applications scientists on current and new products, product capabilities/ benefits, customer and industry trends motivate, coach and develop the team in a changing business environment.
Draft detailed technical protocols/reports from customer interactions
Provide voice of customer, industry trends and competitor knowledge to aid in the sales process and business objectives. Participate in new product testing.
Contribute to applications data and collateral generation by liaising with Product Management, Marketing and R&D.
QualificationsEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific (biology/biochemistry) or engineering (chemical) field
15+ years' experience working in a cell culture discipline in a development or manufacturing technical support setting in the bioprocessing industry. Working knowledge of cell culture operations (seed train, fed batch, perfusion), TFF, scale-up/scale-down, tech transfer and cGMP requirements. Prior field-based support experience would be beneficial.
Strong leadership and management skills. 5+ years in a management or supervisory role.
Excellent strong verbal/written communications and presentation skills and attention to detail are required. Fluency in English
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and work independently to achieve defined goals
Ability to work well within a global, cross functional team
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules
Up to 30% domestic and international travel
