Physical Therapist Job Summary:

• The assessment, treatment, and education of or consultation with the individual, family, or other persons:

• Provide physical therapy services as ordered by the referring physician and delegate appropriate portions of the treatment program to physical therapist assistant and support staff:

• Recommend and provide treatment related to the results of observational, verbal, or manual assessments of the function of the musculoskeletal or neuromuscular system relative to physical therapy including, but not limited to, range of motion of a joint, motor power, postural attitudes, biomechanical function, locomotion, or functional abilities:

The physical therapist (a person licensed to practice physical therapy) uses purposeful activities or interventions to maximize the independence and the maintenance of health of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a cognitive impairment, a psychosocial dysfunction, a mental illness, a developmental or learning disability, or an adverse environmental condition. The physical therapist uses skilled observation or the administration and interpretation of standardized or non-standardized tests and measurements to identify areas for physical therapy services. Physical therapy services include, but are not limited to::

Physical Therapist Qualifications:

• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a physical therapist:

• Prior experience in Skilled Nursing, preferred:

• Member of state and national American Physical Therapy Association, preferred:

• Professional attitude and appearance:

• Proficient administrative and public relations skills:

• Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in physical therapy:

• Thorough knowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures:

• Demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients and employees:

• Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality:

• Knowledge of Medicare and third party reimbursement, preferred:

• Successful completion of the academic requirements of an educational program in physical therapy which has been approved for the educational preparation of physical therapists by the appropriate accrediting agency:
