Overview:Amyx is seeking to hire a Director of Defense Captures to support our Growth Department in Reston, VA. This position is responsible for managing large and complex captures as part of a high performing Growth Department.
Responsibilities:
Oversees Defense captures on behalf of the Capture Division and the Growth Department
Develops and executes capture plans, gate reviews, call plans, Black Hat reviews and Blue Team strategies
Builds competitive teams in the pursuit of large, complex captures
Works with Business Development, Proposal Management and Program Operations, gathers and assesses customer needs, both business and technical
Identifies related needs (lead generation, opportunity expansion)
Identifies customer-wide parameters and constraints that impact the solution
Develops and manages teaming partners and relationships for capturing contract opportunities
Works with Talent Acquisition to find key personnel during the pre-solicitation and post-solicitation phases
Collaborates within Amyx and across teammates to develop and submit a winning proposal
Identifies probable competition and evaluates relative Amyx strengths
Manages the development of both technical and management sections in proposals
Authors and reviews technical content as necessary to fill gaps in the proposal team
Researches the client organization and meets with key client representatives in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer’s needs
Works with solution leaders to determine appropriate technical solution to meet the customer's requirements
Understands Amyx offerings and is able to articulate to accounts and business development based on assessment of client requirements/needs
Anticipates and plans for competitive threats and any corporate weaknesses and gaps
Actively participates with the Account and Growth Teams in account and opportunity planning
Provides solution advice, presentations, and other customer communications during pursuit
Proactively engages other teams and resources within Amyx and partners
Facilitates smooth transition from business development to capture management to proposal development by orienting the appropriate teams to the solution design
Contributions have major impact on corporate success:
Engages with Business Development Leads for assigned account(s) or solution area and contributes to the direction for the team
Breadth of influence goes across multiple organizations within the business and is sought, valued and used
Highly visible position working with senior leaders across the company
Qualifications:Required:
At least 10 years of experience with the Air Force, Space Force and/or DoD as a contractor, federal civilian or military member
Demonstrated deep understanding of the Defense market
At least 5 years of combined relevant experience to include the following roles:
Capture Manager
Business Development
Expert at research and analysis and using tools such as GovWin
Secret Clearance
Bachelor's or higher degree (IT/Cybersecurity field preferred, but not required)
Must have experience calling on Defense agencies, preferably as a military member or federal civilian
Must have the ability to communicate and represent Amyx professionally
Must have experience with Defense or military service IT programs
Ability to travel and represent Amyx, if necessary, to attend conferences key planning meetings (estimated at 3 to 5 times per year, at most)
Desired:
Experience as a Program/Project Manager
Top Secret Clearance
Experience developing LOEs, Staffing Plans, and writing proposals
Experience with some of the following customers: U.S. Air Force, Army, DISA, DoD HQs and agencies (4th Estate), DTRA or the IC
