The Boston University Biomedical Engineering Department is among the largest of its kind in the country. Founded in 1966, it was among the first to offer a Bachelor's degree in the field. Today, we offer a full suite of undergraduate and graduate degrees and are consistently ranked among the top BME departments in the nation. The department of Biomedical Engineering believes that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our research and academic programs. We are educating a diverse student population to address a multifaceted set of biomedical engineering challenges.The department is seeking to recruit an experienced manager to be the department director and join this dynamic community. The successful incumbent will have strong management skills, diplomacy, and be capable of swift reaction to time-sensitive and high demand situations. The individual will build strong communication with multiple partners, balance priorities and provide leadership to the department staff. The director is responsible for all financial and administrative matters for the department by partnering with the staff to handle all personnel actions, the department budget, space management, academic programs, marketing and publications and the associated reporting within the department and college.Required Skills
