Technology Expert, Energy Tonawanda, NY, United States | req19137 What you will enjoy doing In this role, you will leverage the wide-ranging properties of ourindustrial gas products to unlock customer value through unique process andequipment integrations Develop new applications for industrial gases in support of our energy market businesses Replicate existing applications in new markets of interest to our regional business units Train regional business units on the implementation of new and existing applications, including technical presentations, engineering models, equipment demonstration and operation Provide technical sales support to regional businesses including customer presentations, engineering discussions and integration planning Lead research and development projects through the stage gate process towards commercialization, including design and testing of new technologies in Linde labs and at customer sites, presenting results, developing recommendations, and aligning with leadership on action plans and priorities Interact with customers to identify new needs, work with R&D and business units to conceive technology solutions, screen resultant ideas and technologies for development potential Develop commercial value propositions from the customer and Linde perspective including business cases, cost-benefit analysis, project financial analyses, and market studies Work with internal resources, suppliers and development partners to execute projects, establish and maintain industry relationships Conduct process development including PFDs and PIDs, utilizing software such as UNISIM and MS Visio What makes you great MS degree or PhD in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, with 5 years relevant industrial experience related to renewable fuels processing, HPI, or other energy segments You will need to be customer-focused throughout the development cycle, being empathetic to their needs, facilitating good collaboration and ensuring the highest chances of commercial success Your interests and technical experience should align with sustainability, decarbonization and the growing renewable fuels segment, including bio-methane, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) - in particular core production processes such as anaerobic digestion, gasification and fuels synthesis pathways; a foundation in the hydrocarbon processing industry (HPI) is also desired, including upstream oil and gas, oil refining, gas processing, petrochemicals and liquefied natural gas production Some exposure to industrial gas separation technologies such as cryogenics, adsorption and membranes is a plus, as is the application of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and carbon monoxide in industrial processes in general Innovative, results-focused and possesses good verbal and written communication skills Experience in successfully commercializing new technology Self-starter, enjoys working under minimal supervision Takes a practical, hands-on approach to development Up to 20% travel or work away from the primary location is expected Why you will love working with us Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2023 sales of $33 billion.We live our mission of making our world more productive every day by providing high-quality solutions, technologies and services which are making our customers more successful and helping to sustain, decarbonize and protect our planet.
