Director of Career Services

Job SummaryThe Director of Career Services plays a pivotal role in guiding students and alumni in their career development and job placement efforts. This position is responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive career services programs that educate and empower students to successfully navigate the job market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recruiting, counseling, and/or advising, with the ability to analyze data and trends to enhance service offerings.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage career services programs that support student career readiness and job placement.Conduct individual and group advising sessions to assist students with career exploration, resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies.Collaborate with faculty, staff, and employers to create internship and employment opportunities for students.Analyze data related to student employment outcomes to assess program effectiveness and make informed improvements.Utilize systems for tracking student engagement and outcomes.Provide workshops and educational sessions on various career-related topics to enhance student knowledge.Oversee recruiting events, including job fairs, employer panels, and networking opportunities.Stay current with industry trends to better inform students of potential career paths.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.Experience working with students in an advising or career services capacity, preferably in the Baltimore City market.Strong interviewing skills with the ability to educate students on effective techniques.Comfortable with technology and record management systems.Proven experience in recruiting or working closely with employers to facilitate job placements.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse groups of individuals.Ability to analyze data effectively to drive decision-making processes.A passion for helping students succeed in their career aspirations.Job Type:
