Executive Director of Sales RoleWe are looking for an experienced senior seller to join our team to take on a range of responsibilities, including regular interaction with our key clients to educate them on our sponsorship and activation offerings as well as build cohesive proposals to take out to market.
This individual will have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the digital video media landscape as well as a solid understanding of sports media spending and budgets. They must also be an excellent communicator with strategic client support skills who can quickly navigate any situation to achieve desirable mutual outcomes. Ultimately, the Executive Director of Sales will work with leaders across our sales team and ancillary functions internally to ensure our organization hits our sales and revenue goals. Must have experience selling video offerings to top agencies and at the client/brand direct level.
This position is responsible for maximizing monetization of all Stadium and Bally Live media assets, by working with all necessary departments and affiliated partners. Media assets include all owned and operated Stadium and Bally Live digital platforms, Bally Big Bet Poker, linear FAST Channel units, and social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snap, etc). Additional media assets for monetization include; MiLB, AVP, PFL, and other live sports content assets.
Responsibilities
Attain yearly sales goals and communicate progress to goals and strategies/tactics to reach revenue targets with Management
Proactively identify and call on decision makers to build sales opportunities and pipeline
Call on decision makers in a consultative sales role and communicate the Stadium + Bally Live value proposition
Develop new clients and manage current clients with white-glove treatment
Build strong, long-term mutually beneficial client relationships and maintain frequent contact
Work directly with sales, marketing, social, and production development teams to develop viable sponsorship opportunities for partners on Stadium + Bally Live platforms
Manage all phases of the sales pipeline and recognize opportunities to drive revenue
Address client queries effectively and in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records including prospect list, sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, assist in development of sales materials including, but not limited to: proposal decks, concept write-ups, RFP responses, and recap reports
Contribute to pre-sales ideation process including client brand integration opportunities
Work with cross-functional teams including sales, editorial, production, marketing, analytics, digital content, legal, finance, and other partner teams
Keep up with relevant sports and social media news, updates, tools, platforms, and best practices
Identify and resolve issues across the marketing/sales and account management functions
Stay well-connected with customers to ensure broad market needs are being incorporated into the product development and enhancement cycle
Maintain accurate and updated CRM data
Work closely with internal teams to ensure a united vision when corresponding with clients
Act as a role model and mentor to more junior members of the team
Qualifications
Driven, passionate, and an ultimate team player
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a digital media, traditional media, ideally within mobile and streaming video
5+ years sales experience with pre-existing media agency and client relationships
Proactive, positive, and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good follow-through
Talent at explaining complex topics in simple terms in person, over the phone or video conference
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently and manage timelines
Ability to be organized and detail-oriented with professional presentation ability
Ability to deliver on a sales budget and is results oriented
Experience in Salesforce, HubSpot, or other CRM, a plus.
Deep relationships at VP level and above contacts at top-tier agencies and advertisers
Desire to work in a changing, fast-paced start up
BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
Strong, senior-level contacts and relationships at both Client & Agency level
Deep understanding of the streaming video, connected TV, mobile media ecosystem, and branded content integration space
Proven track record of securing and growing revenue
Successful internal and external relationship management at both executive and staff levels
Proven winner with a deep desire to close big deals and earn large commissions
Relationship-builder comfortable with a sales cycle of more than two months
Strong objection handler, with ability to think-on-feet
Strong prospecting, presentation, and relationship building experience
Ability to articulate a strong understanding of advertising campaign strategies
Masterful presentation and negotiation skills, both in-person and over the phone
Availability for light travel and willingness to entertain clients on a regular basis
