Shipping & Receiving Dock Coordinator

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions has partnered with a prominent client in the Zeeland area who is a leader in the logistics field. They are seeking individuals who are looking to expand their careers as Dock Coordinators.Fulltime-Temp to HireMonday-Friday$19/hr to start**Resume required to show experienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee and evaluate all activities of the dock and dock employees, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading of all freight including daily workflow, schedules, and movement of product on and off the dock areasEvaluate and ensure the quality of stacked pallets loading onto trailers.Oversees locking and unlocking of dock doors as needed for inbounds/outbounds.Monitors freight movement using various computer software applications.Assesses efficiency and performance of dispatch and distribution activities; identifies and recommends improvements to shift, department, and facility.Communicate with Shipping Manager regularlyAlways exhibits professional behavior collaborating as a member of the larger operations team.Demonstrates and follows all food safety/HAACP, and dangerous good rules associated with dock activity.Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouseAbility to work flexible hours to support the operationPerforms other duties as assigned

Required experience:

Excellent verbal and written communication skillsComputer proficiencyAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routine, and standard accepted practices.Previous experience in shipping/receiving & warehouseProficiency in operating a hi-lo/forklift & pallet jacksOverseeing loading/unloading of trucks efficientlyThe ability to lift & move heavy itemsWhy Peoplelink?
