Raycap, Inc., a manufacturing company in Kearny, is seeking a highly motivated Quality Inspector for our third-shift. In this role, the Quality Inspector inspects components, sub-assemblies, and finished products received and/or built internally. This position works with Quality Management to implement the proper sampling plans based on component specifications, inspection plans, or customer-supplied requirements and to provide guidance on required quality tools, methods, and data to assure that shipped product fulfills all customer specifications and quality requirements. This position monitors and maintains Raycap quality processes to ensure continual 100% customer satisfaction.The Quality Inspector ensures that fabricated products meet the established quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to identify defects or deviations from customer or company requirements. The inspector will document findings, communicate with production teams, and recommend corrective actions as needed.Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education in manufacturing or quality is a plus
Must have 2+ years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing QC environment, including electrical and mechanical assembly inspections
Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systemsStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and welding standardsMust have knowledge of how to properly use handheld measurement tools to include decimal and fraction readingsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentsExcellent communication and documentation skills
Physical abilities to lift 45 lbs. unassisted
Work Environment:Fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and various materials.Standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a fast-paced production setting.
Primary Job Responsibilities:Conduct visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality standardsInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals to verify compliance of products.Use various inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), to perform accurate measurements.Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including non-conformance reports (NCR), inspection checklists, and daily logs.Work closely with production supervisors, machine operators, and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues.Ensure that products comply with internal, customer, and regulatory standards.Work with Quality, Environmental, H&S employees to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality.Has the obligation to be aware of and comply with environmental, safety policies and regulations and always endures duties of high-quality standards.Special assignments as necessary.
