Job ResponsibilitiesParticipate in analytics and technology consulting projects, engagements, and research effortsCommunicate and coordinate amongst Milliman Consultants, project staff, and our clients to meet milestones and timelinesContribute to technical deliverables using analytics software (for example, SQL, SAS, Python, Excel, etc.)Take ownership of project deadlines and deliverablesDesign and develop a modeling approach to actuarial problems by utilizing large health claim datasetsOversee and/or perform Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tasks on healthcare data, including intake, manipulation, and quality assessment of enrollment, medical claims, and pharmacy claimsDevelop analytical and project roadmaps, planning out the "data to deliverable" runway and identifying potential roadblocks ahead of timeParticipate in client meetings, including occasional travel to client sitesMinimum requirementsBachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Math, or related degree is preferred)0-2 years of health data analytics or similar experienceBasic proficiency in SQL, Python or PowerBIAble to interpret, scrub, process, and explain dataProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelCompetencies and Behaviors that Support Success in this RoleProficiency in database architecture, healthcare claims data, and information technologyKnowledge and experience in the CMS VRDC environmentStrong IT backgroundAnalytical thinker, able to assess problems logicallyStrong communication skills and experience working with a teamDetailed and organizedFast learnerPassionate about providing the best healthcare consulting services to our clientsResults oriented leader that thrives on delivering high quality products and services to our end usersDetermined to solve challenging technical problems with an eye towards quality resultsTake personal responsibility for their work and are motivated to succeedThe Team The Healthcare Data Analyst will join a team that thrives on leveraging data, analytics, and technology to deliver meaningful business value.This is a team with technical aptitude and analytical prowess that enjoys building efficient and scalable products and processes.Ultimately, we are passionate about effecting change in healthcare.We also believe that collaboration and communication are cornerstones of success. The Healthcare Data Analyst will also join a mix of Healthcare Analysts, Leads, Consultants, and Principals.In addition, as part of the broader Milliman landscape, they will work alongside Healthcare Actuaries, Pharmacists, Clinicians, and Physicians.We aim to provide everyone a supportive environment, where we foster learning and growth through rewarding challenges.Location: It is preferred that candidates work on-site at our Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, or Hartford, CT office. Remote candidates will be considered. The expected application deadline for this job is February 17, 2025.Salary: The salary range is $46,000 - $106,000, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.If overall experience is less than 2 years the range would be $46,000 - $87,000; for experience of greater than 2 years, the range would be $54,000 - $106,000.
