CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANTS (COTA) QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must have active and unencumbered Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant ( COTA ) Licensed in the State of NY* Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility Preferred but not required

Pay Range: $30-$43 Per Hour (Based on experience)

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant ( COTA ) Job Summary:

The occupational therapy assistant performs patient related activities. Services may include but are not limited to purposeful activities or interventions to maximize the independence and the maintenance of health of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a cognitive impairment, a psychosocial dysfunction, a mental illness, a developmental or learning disability, or an adverse environmental condition.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant ( COTA ) Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

* Assisting the occupational therapist when performing tests, evaluation and complex treatment procedures

* Observing, recording and reporting to the therapist the condition, reactions and responses related to assigned duties

* Assisting the therapist in consulting with patients, family members and other health care professionals as appropriate

* Assisting with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment

* Assisting the occupational therapist with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant ( COTA ) Education and Experience:

* Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification

* High School Diploma/GED Required

* Strong Interpersonal Skills:
