The Operational Risk Analyst supports the Business Unit Risk and Control (BURCO) team in the "first line of defense," responsible for supporting and coordinating the application of the enterprise's operational risk management framework within the Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB). Primary focus is on operational risk identification, assessment, and monitoring of key business operational risks through execution of MUFG's Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework. The Operational Risk Analyst reports to the GCIB Business Unit Risk Manager (BURM).

The Operational Risk Analyst will play an integral role in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of operational risk management for GCIB product lines and industry verticals including: asset based lending, capital markets, commodity & structured trade finance, global financial solutions, project finance, securitization, supply chain finance, syndications and transaction banking.

As part of the Bank's Operational Risk Management team, this position requires a general knowledge of and sensitivity to the current regulatory environment; understanding and adherence to the Bank's Risk Vision; knowledge and application of operational risk management policies, programs, and techniques; and the ability to recognize and proactively address risk.Specific experience in one of GCIB's core disciplines is highly desirable, preferably within the associated areas of operations, risk management, regulatory environment, or accounting systems.BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in finance, business or another relevant disciplineMinimum 1-3 years of relevant experience performing operational risk analysis as a risk analyst, auditor, compliance analyst, regulator, or similar capacity in the trust or financial services industryAbility to use analytical, evaluative and/or critical thinking skills to assess risks and controls in banking operations processesAbility to assimilate, evaluate and articulate business impact when control exceptions are identified=Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interact effectively with mid and senior-levels of managementAbility to prioritize assignments to meet critical deadlinesAbility to work with a moderate level of guidance;Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, VisioComfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

The typical base range for this role is between $83K and $115K per year depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
