L&D/PP/MB - Level II specialty position available.Job involves inpatient, observation, and short stay patients with medical or surgical problems related to pregnancy, as well as care for low- and high-risk mothers and neonates.RNs will handle tasks including circulating C-Sections, labor, recovery, OB triage, attending deliveries, APGAR scoring, breastfeeding assistance, PP couplet care, and discharge teaching.Nurses are expected to have experience circulating, attending deliveries, offering breastfeeding assistance, and more listed under 'Experience'.Preference for nurses who can float between labor and delivery and postpartum.Job Requirements
Required certifications include BLS, NRP, AWHONN, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring for OB, and BLS for MB.Two years of experience in the specialty is preferred.RNs must be able to titrate common drips such as Magnesium, Oxytocin, and occasionally Insulin, even after delivery to antepartum.Schedule Information
Shift times are 6:45 am to 7:15 pm or 6:45 pm to 7:15 am.Weekend rotation is every other weekend.Rotational holiday requirement is in place.Some on-call duty may be necessary for flexed down scheduled shift hours, including two 12-hour shifts in a four-week schedule.Unit Specific Information
Charge nurse without patient assignment and a House Supervisor is available 24-7.Surgical techs function as PCT when not assisting in surgery.EFM System utilized is Phillips OB trace view.Additional Details
Common diagnoses include preeclampsia and gestational diabetes.Care levels include antepartum, labor, postpartum, and circulating for C-sections.Patients treated are 32 weeks and above for singletons, 30 weeks and above for twins.
