The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and a CA License.Certs: BLS, ACLS, NRP and Advanced Fetal Monitoring are required.At least 2 year of L&D experience.Must be strong in an emergency and able to work independently.Not as many resources available at night.Schedule Information
Shifts: 12 hr shifts 1845-0715.Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance.No self-scheduling.Report is at the bedside.Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.Block scheduling is generally not available.Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.Nights - Fri, Sat, Sun. Days - Sat, Sun.Unit Specific Information
Ratios: L&D - 1:2, 1:1 active delivery. MB - 1:4 (couplets)EMR: CernerCharge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.Nurse Aides: NoHolidays: Rotate in with core staffScrub Color: ProvidedTele: NoVents: NoHospitalist or Intensivist in house: During the day. OB on-call, Anesthesia on-call at night.IV Team: NoRT 24/7: YesPharmacy 24/7: No, 0630-2200. On-call Pharmacist for orders and remote -Pharmacy for deliveries if needed.Floating: No - Responsible for L&D or MB.Floor specific orientation: 2 - 3 days on the floor with preceptor.Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 45 deliveries/month. Standard L&D, term, preterm, couplets. No high risk. Transfer mothers 34 weeks and below. Newborns on IV antibiotics and/or short term O2. General GYN patients as well. 2 RNs and 1 RT during every delivery.Additional Details
For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling, but we would include this verbiage on the confirmation.**Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed**ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP; need 2 sup refs (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked
