About This Role:
The Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Network Administrator for IT support services. This position will Administer the Windows network including, but not limited to, installing new hardware, installing and configuring Windows servers, creating deleting user accounts, adding/deleting/modifying NTFS file system rights, backup and recovery of system servers and file system. Monitor the windows system and apply updates when needed. Assist the help desk personnel when needed. Maintain network hardware as needed - work with campus resources to plan and install entry point switches and wireless access. Provide and/or assist with database administration as needed.
Worksite Options:
This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree
Three years of related IT work experience
Ability to work independently, interact professionally to accomplish complex interdependent technical objectives.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate and bring teams together.
Supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related technical field.
Five years of related IT work experience.
Relevant certifications such as:
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET): This certification demonstrates expertise in biomedical equipment.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP): Or any certificate to validate your networking skills.
CompTIA Network+: This certification covers essential networking concepts and skills.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP): This certification is valuable for understanding and managing network security.
Experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and network management.
Knowledge of medical device integration with hospital information systems.
Proficiency in network security measures, including firewall setup and management.
Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills for both biomedical equipment and network issues.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards, such as HIPAA.
Excellent communication skills to train IT staff and document network configurations.
