As a Data Analytics Lead at Meta, you will help shape the future of the experiences we build for billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses, creators, and partners around the world. This role is within the analytics and data engineering team in Legal Technology Solutions (LTS). LTS supports the Legal and Compliance organization across a breadth of domains including Trust & Safety, Compliance, Learning, Operations, and Legal Technology. We are looking for a Data Analytics Lead who will own all data and analytics efforts related to the learning, compliance, and Operations domains and partner with Legal subject matter experts, engineering teams, third-party vendors, cross-functional partners, and key leaders across the organization. The role will be key in leveraging data and analytics to identify opportunities that improve the efficiency of LTS team's partners, drive the priorities of the organization, and guide day to day decisions. Reporting to the Head of Legal Analytics and Data Engineering, they will help ensure that compliance policies, internal controls, and systems help Meta in its mission to make the world more open and connected. This role allows for a high degree of ownership of the solutions you launch and the ability to make positive change every day. About the role: * Data leadership: You will use data to understand the business ecosystem, quantify new opportunities, identify upcoming challenges, and shape future development to bring value to people, businesses, and Meta. You will help develop strategy and support leadership in prioritizing what to build and setting goals for execution in a technical lead capacity. * Analytics: You will guide the business teams using data and insights. You will focus on developing hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them. * Communication and influence: You won't simply present data, but tell data-driven stories. You will convince and influence leaders using clear insights and recommendations. You will build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partner. * People leadership: You will inspire, lead and grow a world-class team of data analysts, and cross functional stakeholders.
Data Analytics Lead Responsibilities
Drive analytics projects end-to-end in partnership with teams from Engineering, Program Management, Legal Subject Matter Experts, and across the Analytics community to inform, influence, support, and execute Legal and Compliance strategy and investment decisions.Oversee a portfolio of data products (metrics, dashboards, tables, analysis), identify gaps, and prioritize future development.Make open-ended questions clear and quantifiable, use insight to actively influence the strategy and roadmaps. Generate and use team insights to set and prioritize longer term goals.Develop understanding of complex distributed systems and sub-components, as well as broader industry challenges, to identify present and future risks and opportunities.Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.Grow analytics expertise around you, leading and upskilling the team, engineers, and others, to increase overall team impact.Minimum Qualifications
BS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering), or BS/MS in a quantitative discipline with equivalent working experience.A minimum of 7 years of work experience (3+ years with a Ph.D.) in applied quantitative field, including a minimum of 2 years of experience leading analytics teams.Experience communicating both in low-level technical details as well as high-level strategies.Experience in cross-functional partnership among teams of Engineering, Design, PM, Data Engineering, and non-technical partners.Track-record driving data roadmap and execution.Proven SQL knowledge in a big data environment.Preferred Qualifications
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another quantitative field.Proven track record of leading high-performing analytics teams and up-leveling the team.Experience partnering with and influencing stakeholders of all layers and functions, from Software Engineering to Compliance leadership.Knowledge / experience working in one or more of the following areas: compliance, learning, operations, legal analytics.Technically hands on, especially with translating ambiguous concepts to actionable measurement plans, including A/B testing, and other experimental design methods.Coding experience (SQL and Python).
