The Checkout team, part of the payment's product vertical with the Digital Solutions Division, is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates to take on product ownership responsibilities for the Checkout team.
The Product Owner plays a critical role in both managing the day-to-day product related priorities of the application and for helping shape the future direction of the product.In this role, candidates will be joining a multi-discipline team of domain experts, software developers and quality assurance specialists all focused on delivering world class functionality and reliability to a substantial customer base and large prospect pool.
The ideal candidate for this position should excel at working with other senior level stakeholders to develop cross application integration opportunities, have extensive customer facing experience and skill sets to assume customer/user advocacy responsibilities and, over time, formulate a coherent vision for the product that is fully aligned with the Tyler's overall Revenue Management vision for the Payments product suite.Will work on and take responsibility for a critical piece of Tyler's solution suite of payment processing and revenue management functionality, utilized by an extensive nationwide group of federal, state and local agencies.
ResponsibilitiesT he Product Owner will be heavily involved in every stage of the product management lifecycle, described below:
Research market problemsConduct onsite and virtual visits to client sitesConduct interviews with clients and prospectsAttend industry conferences and user gatheringsResearch competing products and organizationsPrioritize problems to solveEvaluate incoming requests, requirements, and suggestionsMaintain a backlog of planned development workOrganize releases of product featuresValidate priorities and plans with stakeholdersDesign solutions to problemsCommunicate requirements as epics and storiesConsult with designers on mockups and prototypesConsult with engineers on technical solutionsValidate designs and requirements with stakeholdersDeliver solutions to the marketGuide development and testing of new featuresDocument features and functionality for future referenceDemonstrate and train features for stakeholdersValidate features with early adopter clientsDrive adoption of solutionsMeasure adoption and usage in the target marketAssist in sales demonstrations, webinars, and proposalsAdvocate through marketing campaigns and community messagingParticipate in Tyler conferences and eventsQualifications
Experience working with local government financial or receivable departmentsExperience with payment collection solutionsExperience working in a customer-facing role, preferably in gathering requirements for software developmentUnderstanding of the software development life cycle, especially agile methodologiesUnderstanding of software design principles, especially user centered designProficiency communicating in written, verbal, and presentation formA track record demonstrating analytical and problem-solving skills, an attention to detail, strong time management skills and the ability manage multiple work tasks effectivelyAbility to excel in the following capacities: independently as a sole contributor, as an integrated contributor in a team setting, and as active participant in a cross functional setting.Ability to travel to client sites, conferences, and Tyler offices, as needed
