for developers to build and distribute the next great game on Discord. We’re looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to help support, educate, and inspire our growing game developer community. You will build meaningful relationships with our community by engaging with their questions and ideas, by speaking at events and workshops, and by communicating their feedback to the rest of the team.What You'll Be DoingBe the voice that drives us to constantly improve the experience for game developers on Discord's developer platformAct as a lead for our Developer Relations team, help with planning, prioritization, and drive best practices across the teamSupport developers by writing documentation, crafting best practices, and developing code samples or projectsCollaborate with our Engineering, Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to highlight unique apps and use-cases, improve our developer experiences and grow the app ecosystemHost community events, lead technical workshops, deliver talks, and find delightful, unique ways to bring new game developers into the Discord developer ecosystemBe an expert resource for our developer community by continuously learning about our platform's capabilities and design patternsWork with the other stakeholders on the developer facings teams to define how our team can best work with our developer community, including using insights you gather to directly influence our product roadmapWhat you should have8+ years experience in developer advocacy, engineering, or other relevant technical experiencePractical experience building games, or tools to support game developersProven ability to discuss and explain complex technical subjects in simple, succinct languageA strong understanding of API design principles and development best-practicesProficiency with at least one popular gaming platform like Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot.Proven ability to collect, analyze, and discuss data in order to set and track performance against goalsExperience working within cross-functional teamsConfidence presenting to different types of audiences, large and small, virtual and in-personA passion for delivering technical documentation that inspires other buildersBonus PointsPrevious experience in a Developer Advocacy roleExperience with Discord’s APIsProficiency in Mandarin or Korean to facilitate collaboration with Discord partners in these regions.#LI-Remote

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $223,000 to $245,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
