In this art-direction-focused role, the creative director will lead and execute creative concepting, content strategies and calendars, still and video shoots, illustrations, influencer and activation content, traditional and ad hoc production, and finding new ways to create and leverage content in new and emerging platforms.
A TSL creative director is skilled at concepting, making and selling creative ideas to the most senior clients. They will also equip, empower and teach content techniques across the agency’s talent network to establish best practices, standardize processes and elevate creative quality across any and all content produced on behalf of a brand or TSL itself.
To be successful, this person must be a self-starter, have a curious mind, possess a penchant for solving problems and exhibit a mastery of social-first creativity in action.
This role is specifically for a client in the gaming industry. We’re looking for someone who has experience and/or interest in video games, gaming culture, gaming fandoms, and the entertainment industry. Essential Functions
Creative + Content Capability
Make great work. Create ideas and executions that earn attention, accomplish objectives and make people want to share them.
Establish and hold a center of excellence in our creative work as it pertains to the development of creative, content creation, design and video production tied to each brands’ guidelines, and production.
Understand client objectives, create and oversee creative work, delivering on time and within budget.
Demonstrate presentation prowess by presenting creative concepts and ideas in a compelling and inspiring manner.
Participate in new business development, including proposals, pitches and exploratory content.
Explore creative technology, new platforms and emerging creative opportunities for our clients and agency brand.
Training and Creative Empowerment
Contribute to an agency-wide culture of Find a Way + Make One through curiosity, productivity and proactivity particularly related to creative and content trends and innovations.
Teach TSL team members basic and advanced techniques in creative development and production.
Explore creative technology, new platforms and emerging creative opportunities for our clients and agency brand.
People Management
Work with direct reports to set measurable annual objectives, conduct bi-weekly check-ins and scheduled employee reviews.
Develop direct reports through ongoing coaching, skills development and encourage participation and/or memberships that foster growth and development.
Anticipate hiring needs, actively contribute to the hiring process for content and engagement roles.
Create and present internal training content with the intent to continue advancing team skills and development across the agency.
Agency Thought Leadership
Elevate The Social Light’s profile in advertising, social and marketing industry through social media, thought leadership, community engagement, awards and more.
Enhance and expand the brand of The Social Lights internally and externally.
Promote and encourage a positive workplace culture dedicated to serving clients first and delivering a high standard of work on their behalf.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
10+ years of experience with at least 3+ years specifically touching social media and/or creative technology and 3+ years of experience in a client-facing role.
Strong understanding of the creative process (ideation to production) with hands-on experience in art direction, design and video production.
Prior production experience within a creatively-driven environment; portfolio of social ads, 3D, metaverse, volumetric content capture and/or TikTok production a plus.
Stellar writing, designing, editing and proofreading skills.
Excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills.
Able to maintain confidentiality with business relations, personnel matters and proprietary matters.
Proficient in Keynote, Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Asana, and Slack.
