Basic Job Functions:The role of the District Sales Manager is to lead the sales and marketing efforts for Kirby Building Systems in a given district to accomplish the overall goals and directives established by the Regional Sales Manager and Management team while taking care of our customers by creating a focus on safety, quality, cost, service, and productivity. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. District Sales Managers are required to live in their district or be willing to relocate.
Job Functions and Required Skills:
- Taking Care of our Customers and maximizing long-term profitability by building and sustaining strong, engaged relationships.
- Identify and recruit new customers/builders.
- Develop an effective territory marketing, volume, and pricing strategy to maintaining profitable sales.
- Maintain the highest standards of service through professional, informative and responsive communications (written and verbal).
- Be willing and able to travel.
- Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when required.
- Ability to develop ongoing customer relationships.
- Strong negotiating skills
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods
- Construction plan and specification reading and interpretation.
- Computer skills.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:- 3 years of metal industry experience.
- High School diploma.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance.
- Must live in their district or be willing to relocate.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Technical Sales, or Construction desired
- Minimum 3 years Sales or Sales Service experience working directly with Builders
- Specific market knowledge and experience with this sales territory
- Previous District Sales Manager experience
