Armed Security Officer Supervisor

The Guard Supervisor serves as a first line supervisor; monitoring and directing staff as necessary and can perform administrative tasks including timekeeping, and report tracking. Provides close supervision of personnel/security officers assigned to their respective shifts, functions, and facilities. In case of after-hours emergency situations, the Supervisor on duty responds and take initial command until higher authority arrives. They are empowered with the authority necessary to handle emergency events. Under no circumstances will Supervisors perform officer duties while working in a supervisory capacity.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Monitor and direct staff as appropriate to assigned duties.
- Perform administrative duties to include timekeeping and report tracking.
- Perform close supervision of guards assigned to their respective shifts, functions and needs of the facility.
- Take charge during afterhours emergency situations until higher authority arrives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience as a law enforcement officer, corrections officer, or military police officer, a period of active-duty military experience (with holding an honorable discharge), or six months of experience as a security officer engaged in functions relating to detaining civil or administrative detainees.
- Possess Active Texas Commissioned security license.
- US citizen and resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language and ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms
- Must be able to pass all training and obtain all required certifications.
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation to include but not limited to criminal, credit and driving record checks.
- Must be able to pass US Government background investigation for required security clearance if necessary.
- Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968,
- Ability to obtain a Federal Suitability Clearance.
- No Disciplinary action in the last 12 months.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
- A minimum of two (2) years of successful experience in field supervision (civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement or commercial/industrial security force service.

Work is typically in a busy detention facility environment and subject to frequent interruptions with long periods of sitting, standing or walking. Extended hours to include nights, weekends and holidays may be required. May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather. Subject to high noise levels to include gun fire, hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat, extreme cold or exposure to chemicals.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTSHeavy work: Exerting up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must have visual and audio acuity to heavy equipment, machines such as fire equipment and apparatuses, firearms and clearing barrels. May be required to be fitted for and/or wear a respirator. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, often without breaks, and may be required to climb stairs or ladders and walk-up inclines and on uneven terrain.
Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract. Must be physically capable of standing a 12-hour post. Travel may be required.
