REMOTE Sr. Consultant: RHEL & Red Hat Satellite

Job Description As part of the Red Hat Consulting approach to overview and installation of Satellite, it is important to solidify the fundamental aspects of Satellite focusing on operations, installation and provisioning within the LM infrastructure. This stage is designed to guarantee that we conduct a thorough examination to ensure that both functionality and deployment strategies are precisely outlined and comprehended. Finally, rounding out this phase, Operations Conducting workshops and/or informal mentoring discussions for facilitating a common baseline understanding of: Content lifecycle management Network requirements, e.g. Public connectivity to the Content Delivery Network (CDN) Common Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system patching strategies Red Hat Enterprise Linux workload patching strategies Infrastructure components, e.g. Servers Capsules Infrastructure Services multi site/geolocation/hyperscale management Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Prioritized list of Red Hat Enterprise Linux hosts and their roles to be managed Client's Red Hat Enterprise Linux host patching and software content management plan Client's backup and recovery strategy Architectural operational decisions for topics including: Registration with content management provider Lifecycle environment processes for content release and patching Organization structure and application of role-based access controls (RBAC) to mirror that structure Vulnerability and remediation management processes Executing content view lifecycle promotion Synchronizing content to Capsules based on organizations, locations, and lifecycle environments Executing a simple Ansible playbook via Ansible Remote Execution Patching up to ten (10) registered clients using the documented Red Hat Enterprise Linux host patching and software content management plan from the prioritized list Generating a system report based on one (1) outstanding Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) Performing at least one (1) minor or micro update or upgrade within the current major version, if available Configuring backups using either built-in utilities or an existing Client host backup solution Executing a mock recovery from backup scenario Configuring Red Hat Insights integration Deploying the Red Hat Insights client to targeted RHEL hosts Creating and execute one (1) Insights remediation plan Installation Reviewing, revising, and documenting: New and existing system architecture, including: Server Capsules Networking Storage Geographic locations Integration with the Client's existing services, e.g. Logging Identity Anti-virus Certificate authorities DNS DHCP Computer providers (e.g. VMware, hyperscalers) Applicable Client security controls Verifying access and availability of required compute resources for deployment Verifying proper network configuration, e.g Firewalls Routing Subnetting Installing one (1) Red Hat Satellite platform including one (1) Server Configuring applicable Infrastructure Services Provisioning Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Newly provisioned Red Hat Enterprise Linux host requirements and post installation tasks, e.g. security controls storage networking packages Configuring kickstart based RHEL host provisioning, including: Creating and configuring host groups Creating and configuring required subnet(s) Creating and configuring required domain(s) Creating and configuring required to compute resource(s) Creating and configuring required compute profile(s) Creating and configuring required operating system(s) Creating and configuring the required installation medium Creating and configuring standard partition table(s) Creating and configuring kickstart post-script(s) Creating and configuring kickstart snippet(s) Integrating kickstart post-scripts with kickstart snippet(s) Creating and configuring provisioning template(s) Creating host group(s) with previously created provisioning-related items including targeted server roles Importing up to five (5) pre-configured Ansible roles into the desired host group(s) Setting host group based parameters for Ansible roles Provisioning up to ten (10) new RHEL hosts using kickstart based RHEL virtual or bare metal host provisioning Initial Configuration Configuring integration with supported, existing, Client's identity, authentication, and authorization services Configuring user accounts, user groups, and customer user roles, minimally consisting of: one (1) administrator user group two (2) user groups Preparing up to three (3) Organization to enable Red Hat Enterprise Linux client system registration, including: Creating Locations Importing entitlement manifest Creating Activation Key Enabling repository Enabling repository synchronization Creating repository synchronization plans Creating content and composite content views Creating lifecycle paths Creating host collections Configuring Ansible Remote Execution Common RHEL Image Overview Image creation concepts including: Security Network Configuration Package Management Custom Scripts Monitoring and Logging Testing and Validation Configuring integration with supported, existing, Client's identity,
