Description
The overall purpose of the Regional
MDS
Coordinator
position is to ensure appropriate reimbursement of Medicare and/or Medicaid Patients through the Patient Assessment Instrument (RAI) process. Assists in the management of quality Patient care on a continuing basis in accordance with federal and state standards.Essential Functions:Review and coordinate Medicaid and Medicare Case Mix data for the regionValidate MDS coding, ICD-10 coding and RUG groupersConduct detailed review of documentation to assist in accurate MDS 3.0 completion to ensure the appropriate level of reimbursement through accurate resident assessmentAssess current processes and evaluate compliance with company standards, as well as Long Term Care regulationsProvide education to licensed and non-licensed staffIdentify opportunities and make recommendations as neededQualifications
Qualifications:
Must have a current RN/LVN licenseMedicaid or Medicare MDS Nurse3 - 5 years MDS/RAI experience requiredCase Mix Management experience required in a long term care settingMust maintain current CPR certificationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent computer software skillsAbility to multi-task and oversee multi-facility functions on a daily basisAbility to direct and lead staff of multiple facilities
