Job Details
We are seeking a Permanent Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The s uccessful candidate will be responsible for evaluating risk, reviewing and approving insurance applications, and maintaining profitable business relationships. This role is integral to our team and requires a professional with a strong understanding of risk management, general liability, and MGU Underwriting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in renewal underwriting and a strong passion for the insurance industry.
Responsibilities:1. Evaluate and underwrite insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements within delegated authority levels.2. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to maintain and expand business relationships with brokers and clients.3. Analyze complex data and financials to assess the risk of insuring a potential client.4. Utilize risk management techniques to mitigate potential losses.5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market activities, and competitors.6. Provide excellent customer service by resolving client inquiries and issues promptly.7. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.8. Participate in special underwriting projects as required.
Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.2. Minimum 5 years of experience in renewal underwriting, MGU Underwriting, and general liability.3. Strong knowledge of risk management techniques and insurance principles.4. Professional designation in CPCU and AU is highly desirable.5. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.6. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure.7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.8. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.9. Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
