The GEIST organization supports a vast portfolio of buildings within the Amazon network and the build out standards and designs.We are looking for a seasoned Quality Assurance Engineer to serve as the quality lead and strategy owner for cross-functional projects, scope test requirements, and lead in creating quality test plans. You will get the opportunity to define quality metrics for complex products, and identify trends to prevent future defects. You will work closely with Engineering, Product and Technical Program teams as you develop high quality test plans for new features. As a QAE, you will also get multiple opportunities to show your leadership skills and recommend improvements to the way systems are designed and tested across GEIST teams.Successful members of this team collaborate effectively to solve problems, implement new solutions, and deliver successfully against high operational standards.In this role, you will have the freedom (and encouragement) to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of our customers. You will have the satisfaction of being able to look back and say you were a key contributor to something special from its earliest stages.Key job responsibilities- Create test strategy, write test plans and design test cases.- Help define and lead the Quality Assurance process.- Implement best practices; including a variety of different testing protocols, tools and metrics.- Work closely with the multiple development teams to assure test coverage.- Participate in Agile standup planning sessions- Promote QA productivity through automation, tools, and other best practices.- Assist in building tools and frameworks for automated testing.- Work with remote teams to enable delivery of test artifacts.- Execute functional, regression tests, performance and stress testing.A day in the lifeA typical day for a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) at Amazon involves a mix of testing, collaboration, and process improvement activities. This includes, Test Planning and Design, Test Execution, Bug Identification and Reporting, Automation and Maintenance, Monitoring and Analyzing Results, Documentation and Reporting, and Process Improvements.About the teamhe GEIST team serves as the software solution team to all Global Engineering needs, working with its customers to set a consolidated Tech strategy, and prioritizing investments to best serve their needs and our bottom line. The GEIST team is responsible for the sustainment of a large product suite ranging from Planning & Forecasting applications to robust in-flight management of field execution users. These systems are leveraged by both internal and external users around the globe.Basic Qualifications- 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience- Experience in automation testing- Experience in manual testing- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects- BS degree in computer science or equivalentPreferred Qualifications- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product qualityAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
