Come join us and help us build The DNA of tech.™Reports To:Quality Assurance SupervisorPay Range:Day Shift (5:00am - 1:30pm) - $17.00 - $22.50/hourJob Location:Vishay Applied Thin Film Products is located in Fremont, CA.Essential Responsibilities:Responsible for performing in-process, final visual inspection of raw, metalized and patterned ceramic substrates using stereo zoom and high-power microscopes, micrometers, calipers, various gauges and other inspection tools.Read diagrams and specificationsMeasure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometersAccept or reject finished productsMust strictly follow quality standards and meet daily, weekly production goalsDiscuss inspection results with those responsible for the productsAbility to interpret test data according to test parameters.Ability to perform First Article InspectionMay be required to perform other dutiesReport inspection and test dataProvide training and support to QA teamJob Experience/Requirements:Minimum high school diploma or equivalent1-5 years' experience in quality assurance inspectionAbility to read and understand workmanship standards, military standardsComputer skills, data entry experience and proven working knowledge of computer usageMIC Hybrid circuit inspection experience or MIC assembly a plusAttention to detail and a high degree of accuracyTechnical knowledge of basic inspection tools and equipment like calipers, micrometers, various gauges, and low- and high- powered microscopes, bonding machines, etc.Proficient in English. Must have good English communication skills, both written and verbalGood manual dexterity for handling precise small fragile components under a microscope using tweezers and probesStrong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of peopleAbility to work in a dynamic environment with constant changeAble to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficientlyStrong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities requiredKnowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and other safety proceduresPrior experience working for ISO 9000 certified companyWork EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in a lab environment; adheres to required safety and dress standards to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, talk, and listen. May be required to sit, stand, walk for periods of time; bend, stoop, and twist; closely observe items through a microscope, and perform various repetitive fine grasping motions; uses a variety of small hand tools to perform various operations when required; operate a computer and enter information using a keyboard, operate a telephone, and other office equipment for an extended period of time. As some visual inspection duties will also be required, specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Some physical strength and stamina are required for regular cleaning duties.
