About this RoleAs the Sr. Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for tracking, forecasting, analyzing, and reports of Varda’s pharmaceutical and aerospace lines of business.
This is the key financial planning and analysis (FP&A) role in the company with the responsibility of providing visibility into revenue and spending trends, business performance, and program operations.
A successful candidate will be able to interface will all aspects of the company including engineering, sales, and the account management teams.
This is a full-time, exempt position located in our El Segundo headquarters.
Required Skills
Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades to open-ended problems
Maintain and develop financial models for an annual operating plan, budget, and forecast cycles
Provide day to day support and administration for Varda’s portfolio of financial systems
Develop forecasts of key performance indicators (KPIs), including spending and resource requirements for Varda’s pharmaceutical and government product lines, including headcount, capital, and operating expenses
Interact effectively with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to define business processes and identify areas of improvements/automation
Provide insight on revenue, spending variances, and department-level reporting to Varda’s managers, teams, and business partners
Forecast unit costs with cross-functional teams and track progress in all cost reduction goals
Conduct ad-hoc analyses as needed to support operational decision-making
Prepare and update capital expenditure and inventory cash forecasts
Develop and enhance tools to track revenue performance and incurred project costs every month
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or engineering
5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance operations
Ability to receive Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Strong written and verbal communication
Independently motivated with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex technical projects
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, applied business statistics, and general modeling experience of complex non-linear system
S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to conform with U.S Government space technology export regulations under ITAR
Experience with US GAAP accounting standards
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
7+ years in the finance industry with experience in a technology-based start-up
MBA or CPA
Knowledge of reporting, visualization, intelligence, and analysis tools
Experience presenting financial models across a multi-disciplinary organization
Experience with the development of various enterprise resource planning (ERP) business tools and applications (not necessarily a software developer, but as a finance expert and user)
Experience with SQL and/or Python
Compensation
Sr. Financial Analysist: $120,000—$165,000 /per year
Leveling and base salary is determined by job-related skills, education level, experience level, and job performance
You will be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash awards
Offer compensation also includes the ability to purchase company stock through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan
