We are seeking an experienced and passionate Merchant for our Hunting Merchandising Team. The ideal candidate will identify assortment, pricing, and go to market strategies for their respective categories. This position's goals include category strategy and growth planning, product assortment selection, product development, vendor negotiations, promotions and advertisements, sales and inventory data review. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. WHAT YOU’LL OWN:

Works with the Divisional Merchandise Manager to develop and execute all aspects of strategic planning for hunting.

Collaborates with the Divisional Merchandise Manager and Finance Teams to develop financial goals for hunting.

Works cross-functionally with Retail Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Analytics, and other departments to achieve category goals for hunting products.

Organizes and directs the review of hunting assortment performance and competitive pricing analysis.

Oversees vendor pricing and program negotiations for hunting products.

Works with vendors to select the optimal assortment of hunting products for all business channels (Retail Stores, Internet, Catalog, B2B).

Manages product specifications and collaborates with the Product Development team for sourcing and forecasting hunting products.

Organizes and directs marketing plans for proprietary branded hunting products, working with Marketing, Photography, and other teams to execute strategies.

Reviews sales and inventory data to identify trends, optimize customer service levels, and maximize inventory productivity for hunting products.

Identifies slow-moving inventory, overstocks, and other inventory issues within hunting.

Participates in the financial planning process for hunting.

Monitors customer reviews and quality issues related to hunting products.

Oversees all product information submission to the Internet production team for hunting products.

Identifies market trends and develops product and price structures for hunting products within Bass Pro Shops Proprietary Brands.

Develops and selects hunting items for promotional activity (Retail Flyers, Catalogs, Digital Promotions, and more).

Performs all other duties as assigned.

JOIN OUR TEAM WITH:

BS Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

5+ years in a related role, with experience in the hunting or outdoor industry preferred.

MAKE YOUR MARK BY:

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Computer literacy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to monitor and identify market trends in the hunting industry.

Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to work under pressure and make good decisions to meet deadlines.

Comfortable working with numbers, maintaining spreadsheets, and analyzing data.

Ability to maintain and build effective relationships with cross-functional teams and peers.

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
