Job Description:

The Data Operations and Technology unit within the Center for Health Information and Analysis seeks a highly skilled Senior ETL Developer experienced in Talend Data Fabric. This role focuses on converting an existing ETL system to Talend ETL technology. The developer will work closely with CHIA staff to bring the project from initiation to completion, requiring thorough understanding and adherence to CHIA requirements, and proactively addressing any clarifying questions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new ETL jobs using the Talend ETL toolset.

• Design and implement ETL processes for data extraction and transformation from sources such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

• Design and create necessary database tables, constraints, and structures per project requirements.

• Collaborate with team members to understand source system data structures and retrieval methods.

• Develop data transformation logic using ETL tools and scripting languages (SQL, Bash, Python).

• Clean, validate, and transform data to meet target schema and quality standards.

• Contribute to data quality improvement efforts and troubleshooting activities to ensure data integrity and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• Five years of experience using Talend Data Fabric in a professional setting.

• Strong knowledge of Talend Data Fabric tool, ESB, and MDM, with experience in creating ETL from technical specifications and migrating ETL from other tools.

• Five years of experience in ETL Development within a health data organization.

• Three years of experience with databases, data warehousing, ETL, business intelligence, or software development.

• Expertise in Talend projects with Data Integration and Cloud Integration, handling large datasets.

• Familiarity with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and Microsoft DevOps Git Repos.

• Ability to create and modify database objects such as tables, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

• Knowledge of HIPAA policies and handling of PII/PHI sensitive data.

• Strong independent work skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a hybrid work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data quality management and process troubleshooting.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, maintaining detailed, process-oriented work habits.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
