Position Overview :
The Communications Manager will lead and manage digital and social media initiatives for the ANA, serving as a pivotal figure in improving digital information delivery to diverse audiences. This role will involve strategic oversight of ANA's digital presence, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and representing ANA in all media and digital communication efforts.
Key Responsibilities :
Drive advancements in ANA's digital information delivery systems.
Oversee development and administration of digital assets within the acf.hhs.gov domain.
Serve as a social media expert across both established and emerging platforms.
Identify, develop, analyze, and evaluate content for ANA's digital channels.
Draft high-level communications, including speeches, newsletters, correspondence, presentations, talking points, and briefing papers.
Utilize structured content strategies and plain language for content clarity and accessibility.
Develop new content models and manage content migration and editing processes.
Train team members in effective content development practices.
Ensure digital communications align with ANA's quality standards and mission.
Act as ANA's "voice" in digital spaces, promoting programs and initiatives.
Develop strategic communications plans and maintain a comprehensive resource library.
Ensure compliance with Section 508 standards for digital information accessibility.
Required Knowledge & Skills :
Expertise in communications principles and practices.
Strong digital content management experience, including social media and CMS proficiency.
Project and strategic planning skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
Strong collaboration skills and experience in managing stakeholder relationships.
Knowledge of Section 508 compliance standards and plain language principles.
Content modeling expertise and a strong analytical mindset.
Education :
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience :
Minimum of 5 years in a communications role, preferably in a public sector or social services setting.
Proven experience in digital content management, social media strategy, web content development, and strategic communications.
Technical Skills :
Proficient with Content Management Systems, social media platforms, web analytics tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital asset management tools.
