Our Sales team makes a difference in the lives of our customers, colleagues and community. SGS works to ensure the health and safety of our environment and community as a key partner in the cleanup of contaminated sites, ensuring we all have safe drinking water and helping clients minimize their impact on the environment. Our team's goal is to provide above and beyond client service along with industry leading technical expertise and our Account Manager team is an important part of that objective. We're looking for a motivated and energetic individual with expertise in business development and a passion for solution-based selling. This position is responsible for the sale of environmental analytical services to existing and prospected customers, as well as securing business opportunities to meet revenue targets.
Job functions:Manages sales team budgets, territories and client lists for clients in the Northeast USALeads, coaches, and develops a quality driven, sales team to deliver profitable growthCollaborates with the senior management team to develop and defines sales strategies for achieving sales goalsHires and develops sales staffDefines and oversees sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targetsDefines and coordinates sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectivesManages customer expectations and contributes to a high level of customer satisfactionDefines sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when requiredDevelops infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales functionProvides detailed and accurate sales forecastingDefines, tracks, and manages sales teams KPI/Metrics; financials, activities, pipeline, prospectingMonitors customer, market and competitor activity and provides feedback to executive and leadership teamsWorks closely with the marketing team to establish successful support, budget, plans and programsManages key customer relationships to develop and secure strategic opportunitiesTravels for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships and opportunities for SGSDevelops and maintains relationships with key accountsCreates a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievementLiaises with other SGS business lines to insure proper and effective cross sellingFollows up on delivery of laboratory services to meet client needsDevelops and manages the business plan for the growth of the EHS businessProvides ongoing beneficial client feedback to inform the business and Operations staffOperates to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Code of IntegrityQualifications
Degree or diploma in a relevant field; Chemistry, Biology, Environmental science (Required)10 years of experience in Technical sales, project management, or customer service experience (Required)10 years of experience in Environmental Industry (Preferred)Prior supervisory experience (Preferred)Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.Excellent oral and written communications skills to build strong customer relationships as well as work effectively and collaborate internallyStrong leadership, self-initiative, resource utilization and time management skillsSolid critical thinking skills to anticipate and solve problems in a systematic manner.Advanced English language skillsAdvanced mathematical and reasoning skillsAdvanced computer skillsExcellent attention to detail
