Position Summaryccident & Health (A&H) Insurance Subject Matter Business Analyst with in-depth knowledge of accident and health insurance products. This role will support the migration of a new policy administration platform in a top-tier insurance organization. The BA will analyze and optimize business processes, define and document requirements for new and existing insurance products, and act as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment on solution development and implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesSubject Matter Expertise : Act as an expert on accident and health insurance products, including underwriting and policy administration.Requirements Gathering : Work with business stakeholders to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements for new features, enhancements, and product updates, ensuring alignment with business goals.Process Analysis & Optimization : Map and analyze existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions to improve process efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance service quality.Documentation & Reporting : Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process flows, use cases, user stories, and test cases.Stakeholder Communication : Serve as a bridge between business units, IT, and product management teams, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding project progress, risks, and expectations.Data Analysis & Insights : Utilize data analytics tools to extract insights from product and market data, identifying trends and making data-driven recommendations for product improvement and process optimization.Solution Validation : Collaborate with QA teams to validate and test solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.Market & Regulatory Awareness : Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting accident and health insurance to ensure product compliance and competitive positioning.Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.Experience : 5+ years of experience as a business analyst in accident and health insurance, or related field within the insurance industry. Experience with policy administration systems, claims processing, and underwriting is essential.nalytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience in data-driven decision-making.Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with insurance policy administration systems, claims management software, and business intelligence tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau).Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Certification : CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or other relevant business analysis certifications are highly desirable.Preferred Skills
Project Management : Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).Insurance Certifications : Designations such as AINS (Associate in General Insurance), CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), or ARM (Associate in Risk Management) are advantageous.daptability : Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
