Overview
The Clinical Services Technician collects specimens on all age populations as assigned with minimal patient impact and/or responsible for the processing and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources. Responsible for verification of proper patient/specimen identification, appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders. Organizes laboratory work flow and appropriately prioritizes processing and distribution of specimens. Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test request, accession, correctly label and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames. Performs specified procedures within scope of established testing methods and responsibilities. Performs and appropriately documents routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoots as needed. Demonstrates service excellence by acknowledging customers in a friendly and professional manner, actively listening, responding with empathy, and showing pride in appearance and behavior. Updates knowledge, skills and applies appropriately. Maintains age-specific and other required competencies as needed. Works both independently and as part of a team with general supervision and/or periodic review by Practice Manager. Performs other duties as assigned. Department Description

American Society for Clinical Pathology Or Phlebotomy Preferred Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Graduate Phlebotomy Preferred Experience
1 Year Clinical - Phlebotomist Required - And 1 Year Healthcare - Acute Care Preferred
