Traveling Superintendent (Winter 2024)

This position is responsible for the supervision of all on-site construction; including scheduling subcontractors, problem solving, inspecting all work during construction to ensure quality, compliance with plans and specifications, and promoting/enforcing the safety program. This position works closely with the entire project team.
Key Responsibilities
Support PM Staff in the pre-construction process through pre-bid walks and pre-construction meetings with contractors to explain and clarify construction means and methods, define scopes, and determine timelines.Promote and maintain BDB safety culture with entire construction team through firm but fair practices. Conduct Jobsite Safety Audits daily to prevent potential injuries and OSHA violations. Conduct Toolbox safety talks weekly at Foreman's meeting.Documentation - Daily Logs, Daily Jobsite Inspections, Near Misses, Written Warnings, Meeting Minutes, Foreman's Meetings, Toolbox Talks and subcontractor Site Safety OrientationRead and understand each contractor's contract responsibilities and hold accountable. Review Exhibit A with PM to insure complete scope coverage. Identify Scope Gaps early in process to allow ample time for cost effective completion.Build and maintain project schedule. Update schedule weekly and communicate with all job foremen each week at Foreman's meeting. Communicate and document communication of schedule to all impacted subcontractors and vendors in a timely manner to prevent schedule delays.Complete punch list in required amount of time. Provide PM Team with all required documentation and as built drawings at closeout meeting. Schedule and document training for all end user personnel on all MEPS equipment.Maintain clean, safe, and accessible site. Communicate site utilization and laydown areas throughout project. Coordinate activities in a proficient manner to prevent schedule delays.Education and/or Experience
A minimum of 8 years as SuperintendentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
