Software/Hardware Test Engineer

Permobil R&D has an immediate opening for a Software/Hardware Test Engineer on the Power Assist Devices team in the Lebanon, TN facility.
Key Tasks:
Design and Develop Tests: Create and execute test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical understanding.
Identify and Document Bugs: Report bugs, errors, and inconsistencies in software program output.
Collaborate with Developers: Work with software developers to diagnose and rectify issues discovered during testing.
Automate Testing Procedures: Improve and automate test procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate in Design Reviews: Provide feedback on potential issues, risks, and usability during product design reviews.
Post-Release Testing: Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing to validate that requirements and specifications have been met.
Evaluate Testing Tools: Assess new testing tools and methodologies to improve the efficiency of the testing process.
Prepare Reports: Document findings from the testing process to inform stakeholders and support decision-making.
Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or degree in a related field or an associate’s degree with equivalent work experience.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving aptitude.
Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies, including Agile and DevOps and oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, and other typical electronics bench tools.
Experience with formal documentation and design review procedures.
Customer and market orientation in identifying key needs, understanding the right solutions needed to meet customer requirements, and developing successful products.
