SUMMARY:
Acts as a front-line resource for basic HR related employee inquiries. Primarily responsible for Benefit and Leave Administration. Also, responsible for personnel records maintenance, both paper and electronic. Assist in various human resource activities in the areas of payroll, recruitment, onboarding, HRIS system maintenance and events.
The pay rate for this role will be between $22.55 and $40 per hour. The specific rate offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience. Hired candidate may be eligible for healthcare benefits, 401K plan, short term & long-term disability coverage, life insurance, vacation & sick time, educational assistance, and several holidays. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process benefits-related transactions including enrollments, changes, terminations, and COBRA.
Manage and track LOA related to FMLA, Washington Paid Leave, Oregon Family Leave, etc. and provide direction and answer questions for employees going through the process.
Record and maintain employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, and other personnel actions.
Maintain confidentiality of all personnel records.
Responsible for maintaining our electronic records and uploading to HRIS system.
Responsible for tracking and filing I9 documents.
Assist in recruiting activities such as applicant tracking & recruiting reports.
Responsible to cross train and document all HR/Payroll processes.
Assist the HR Team by conducting assigned projects.
Answer phones and refer personnel related questions and inquiries.
Communicate in person, email and phone in a professional manner.
Participates in and completes training objectives with passing scores.
Follow all Riverview policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Daily contact with Supervisor to receive direction and interpretation of existing and new personnel policies or procedures.
Confer with employees to provide information or assistance.
Occasional contact with various businesses or professionals who provide necessary confirmation, consultation, documentation, etc., of various types of employment or benefit related information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree and two years of related human resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Note: The combination must have 1 year experience working in human resources.
SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to assist the department with routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute percentages.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Requires the intermediate skills associated with the general use of computers and other business office equipment.
Requires intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Requires extreme confidentiality
Requires diligence and attention to details
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate via phone/video, messaging, and email. The employee is required to use computer and office equipment such as a computer, printer, copier, as well as computer software such as Microsoft Office. You may also frequently be required to occupy a workstation for long periods of time.
