Our mission is to provide great food, service, and experience for our students and community.CDS operates four dining units (Browne Dining Hall, Red Door Marketplace, Broad Cafe, and Avery Kitchen) for a campus community of 2000. We also serve over 950 students, 7 days a week, through our Meal Plan Program and maintain a burgeoning Catering Department.This is an Essential Reporting position. In the event of an emergency on campus, an employee designated as essential reporting has essential job skills that are needed for response and recovery and is expected to report to Campus as soon as possible.Job SummaryThe Dining Services Support Coordinator is responsible for assisting the department in a variety of basic IT and equipment needs. This position should be very comfortable with setting up, installing, and troubleshooting computer issues. They will also be entering data into and maintaining our recipe and food service management software, register equipment, digital menus, and social media accounts. They will assist the department in creating short recipe videos, fun dining video highlights, as well as other dining-related tasks. Ensures the unit is ready for service, staff has the tools and knowledge they need to do their jobs, and that all equipment is in good operating condition. The candidate must have strong communication skills and is required to communicate any staff & unit needs requiring assistance from the manager.Job Duties:Become an expert in CBORD FMS & Caterease software, our food service management software for campus dining and catering services. Be the go-to resource for maintenance, report generation, forecasting, and operational data for Caltech Dining Services management.Become an expert in Quadpoint, our point-of-sale software, responsible for menu screen management, item database maintenance, and report generation.Troubleshoot basic hardware problems with the assistance of vendor technical support and our campus IT partners.Maintain the CDS webpage, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.Maintain digital menu boards (Screencloud).Use CDS social media platforms to promote dining related information.Meal Plan Management, to include Activation/Deactivation of Meal Plans.Coordination of refunds for campus Housing and Dining.Financial coordination and reporting to include, WIC Management and reconciliation.Help Desk support for card services, to include Dining Funds related tickets, Meal Plan-Related tickets.Maintains and manages operational reporting for Dining Services (Weekly Operating Reports).Assist in fostering a teamwork-oriented environment.Cultivate a positive and productive workplace by setting the example, communication, vision, teamwork, sense of ownership and positive attitude.Will be occasionally required to perform work outside normal job duties (cashier, stocking, answering phone calls, etc.).May occasionally work a different shift due to unforeseen events or department needs.Must be able to confront a challenge or adverse situation with calm, resolve, and an open, can-do attitude and positive mindset.Other duties as assigned.

Basic QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or 5 years of directly applicable technology support experience.Must have strong technical aptitude and the ability to master unfamiliar software applications quickly.Must possess a ServSafe Certification or must be able to obtain certification within the first 90 days of hire.Must be able to move, bend, twist, lift, push, pull, squat, and reach for extended periods of time, and walk across campus and dining facilities with a sense of urgency.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.Must be able to work as a member of a team with the ability to take direction with a positive attitude.Must be to adapt to changes quickly, take ownership of their work, and take initiative.Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred QualificationsPrevious dining, retail, or higher education experience is preferred.Familiarity with point-of-sale software and hardware systems is preferred.

Hiring Range$29.00 - $37.50 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
