Borland Groover is a leading gastroenterology physician practice consisting of around 100 providers. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and advancing digestive health through innovative services. The Business Intelligence (BI) department plays a crucial role in supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Director of Business Intelligence, you will lead the strategic development and operational management of the BI function. You will oversee the necessary analysis, reporting, and data governance to provide actionable insights that enhance business performance, patient outcomes, and operational efficiencies. The Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership, clinical teams, and IT to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategy & Leadership:
Lead the development and execution of the BI strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives.Provide leadership and mentorship to the BI team, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.Collaborate with executive and departmental leadership to define and prioritize key business questions and data needs.
Data Management & Reporting:
Oversee the collection, integration, and analysis of healthcare data from multiple sources (EHRs, practice management systems, financial systems, etc.).Ensure the accuracy, quality, and governance of data to support decision-making.Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for clinical, operational, and financial performance.
Advanced Analytics:
Lead the development of predictive models and advanced analytics to optimize resource allocation, patient care, and business processes.Support the evaluation of new technologies and data solutions that enhance BI capabilities.
Operational Efficiency:
Drive process improvements across the practice through data insights, identifying opportunities to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve patient care.Collaborate with IT and clinical staff to ensure seamless data integration and reporting solutions.
Compliance & Security:
Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH) in all BI initiatives.Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting data analytics and healthcare.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field.7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or healthcare analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of healthcare data systems (EHRs, practice management, financial reporting) and data governance.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar analytics tools.Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for various stakeholders.PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience in a physician practice or healthcare provider group, especially in gastroenterology.Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) in healthcare settings, particularly in clinical and financial outcomes.Understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment, including HIPAA and patient privacy laws.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
