Excited to invite a positive energy Technical Design to help the relaunch of a highly revered American brand. This TD role works directly with the Design / Merchandiser - partnering with her through design process, creating comprehensive and detail-oriented sample t/p's, following through with factories on sample development, fittings, and factory communications among various other tasks that bring a product from concept to sample.
Responsibilities:
Support the design team through stages of product development, from the conceptual stage through pre-production.Work with the design team to develop the initial tech packs for the collection.Have a full understanding of each collection's design and brand aesthetics requirements.Develop accurate product specifications within calendar deadlines, including sample size measurements, full-size grading, and construction details.Review measurements and construction of all samples at the beginning of each season and review each style in conjunction with product and design teams through live model or mannequin fittings.Issue revised product specifications and fit correction comments after the review, including photo or sketch corrections or actual pattern corrections as necessary.Follow through with factories on sample development.Request additional fit, photo, and salesmen samples as needed.Communicate regularly with the overseas production team and vendors.Create work-in-progress reports for the design team and additional reports to accurately monitor the product life cycle.Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design• 5+ year of technical experience in womenswear• Knowledge of both cut /sew knit fabrications and wovens across all product categories• Extensive knowledge of garment construction / specs / fit• Meticulous attention to detail• Strong verbal and written communication• Able to collaborate with internal cross-functional teams as well as with overseas partners• Organizational skills with the ability to manage a timeline• Knowledge of Excel, PLM, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Compensation/Benefits:
Annual Salary $80,000 to $90,000 depending on experience.In office 4-days - NYC Midtown
