POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist will provide a broad range of HR support in support of business objectives, strategic goals, and human resources initiatives for their local facility. This position will manage the day-to-day operations of the Department, along with the Human Resources Manager as they are needed. This position will proactively partner with organizational leaders to develop strategies and achieve organizational objectives. The HR Generalist will also perform diverse assignments including staffing, diversity, learning and development, training, employee relations and other special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities include:
Deploy and follow through on all HR initiatives, processes, and systems, partnering with the site HR Manager and site management to drive initiatives.Supports all aspects of payroll and time and attendance.Performs benefit administration to include change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees.Handles transactional activities associated with the day-to-day activities for Human Resources. This includes but is not limited to payroll change requests, employee life changes, responding to manager requests for HR-related information, and HR mailings.Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.Participates in developing department objectives, processes, and systems.Facilitates new hire orientation and onboarding processesCreates an environment of positive employee relations, keeps confidentiality, establishes trust and credibility, is perceived by employees as approachable and fair, balances business needs with employee needs, and spends significant time interfacing directly with employees/client base.Provide employee relations coaching and guidance to supervisors and management in the handling of complex employee performance issues and/or administrative processes; provide guidance on written warnings and performance improvement plans.Views and produces reports, and/or maintains Human Resources Information System records.Participates in staff meetings, other meetings, and seminars as requested and/or assigned.Participates in or leads other human resources projects as needed.Maintains a high level of confidentiality in daily tasks.Works with the HR Manager to approve time in the Kronos timekeeping system and ensures all information in the system is correct.Reports Worker Compensation Accidents and informs the Human Resource Manager, Plant Manager, and Department Supervisor of the needed information on the claim when the Human Resource Manager is not available.Conducts all aspects of recruitment effort (external job ads, screening, follow-up, background check processes, etc.) for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, and facilitates processing/placement of temporary employees.Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.Accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for their positionEncouraged to notify management about actual or potential food safety issuesAdopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their positionEmpowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of workPerforms other related duties as required and assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field with five plus (5+) years of progressive HR generalist experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience or equivalent of work experience.Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or the Society of Human Resource Manager Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the food/beverage industryPrevious experience working in ADP and Kronos platformsPrevious experience in Manufacturing or production environment.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of an organizationDemonstrated ability to work independently on complex issues requiring creative solutions within policies, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and changing environmentEffective oral and written communication skillsExcellent responsive customer service focus and great team playerHigh level of skills in handling sensitive and confidential situations/information with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentialityWorking knowledge and experience with MS Office and Internet sourcingAbility to objectively coach employees and effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT:
sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.
OCCASIONAL:
squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 - 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
VISION:
Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING:
Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
